PRIVACY POLICY

Effective: 6/16/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Pine Tree Trail's Custom Creations LLC ("PTTCC LLC," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of pinetreetrail.com (the "Site"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about the people who visit and use the Site. PTTCC LLC is a Maine limited liability company based in Molunkus Township, Maine. If you have any questions, contact us at info@pinetreetrail.com.

Some features described below may not be active for all users at all times. Where a section describes information collected "when you" do something (such as making a purchase or following another member), that information is collected only if and when you use that feature.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you provide to us:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our platform provider; we do not see your actual password.
- Trip Planner content. When you build a trip, we store the stops you add and any notes you write.
- Purchases. When you buy a membership or a product from our store, we collect your order details and the items purchased. If you order a physical product, we also collect the shipping address you provide.
- Saved items. If you add items to a wishlist, we store those selections.
- Profile and social features. If you complete a member profile or follow (or are followed by) other members, we store that profile information and those connections. Some profile information may be visible to other users.
- Blog and public posts. Blog content is published by us. If we enable member posts and approve yours for publication, the content you submit will be publicly visible on the Site. If you comment on a blog post, your comment and the profile name shown with it are visible to others. Do not include information in a public post or comment that you would not want others to see.
- Business listing submissions. If you submit a business to our directory, we collect the listing details you provide (such as business name, address, phone, website, and social links). Listing details are displayed publicly in our directory.
- Email sign-ups. If you sign up for updates, we collect your email address.
- Communications. If you contact us, we keep the messages you send and our replies.

Payment information:
Payments for memberships and store purchases are processed by Wix Payments, our payment processor. We do not collect or store your full card number; your card details are handled directly by the processor.

Information we collect automatically:
- Technical and usage data, including your IP address, device and browser type, connection information, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and how you arrived at and left a page.
- Cookies and similar technologies set by our platform (see Section 4).
- Map usage. Our maps are powered by Mapbox. When you use the interactive map, Mapbox may receive your IP address and approximate location in order to serve map tiles, subject to Mapbox's own privacy policy.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Site and its features, including accounts, the Trip Planner, the directory, the store, memberships, and any blog or social features;
- process payments, fulfill orders, and manage memberships and subscriptions;
- respond to your questions and provide customer support;
- send you service-related notices and, where you have signed up, updates about the trail and the Site;
- understand how the Site is used so we can improve it, including through aggregated, non-identifying statistics; and
- comply with applicable laws and protect the security and integrity of the Site.

3. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as follows:
- Service providers. We use Wix (which hosts the Site and provides its store, membership, and payment tools and stores its data) and Mapbox (maps). These providers process information on our behalf so we can operate the Site.
- Public content. Information you choose to make public -- such as a business directory listing, a blog post or comment, or profile information you make visible -- is displayed publicly and can be seen by others.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or PTTCC LLC.

4. COOKIES

A cookie is a small file saved by your web browser that lets a site recognize your device on future visits. Our platform (Wix) uses cookies that are necessary for the Site to function, to keep you signed in, and to measure Site activity. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings or, where offered, through the cookie preferences on the Site; some features may not work properly without them.

5. DATA RETENTION

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active.

We keep your saved trips and stops while your account is active. You can delete a trip at any time from the Trip Planner, and you can undo your most recent deletion until you start a new trip or until it is permanently removed after 30 days, whichever comes first. You may also request deletion of your account and its associated data by contacting us. Deleted trips that you do not restore are automatically and permanently removed once they have remained deleted for more than 30 days.

Content you post publicly (such as a blog post, a comment, or public profile information) remains visible until you remove it or your account is closed.

We retain order, billing, and transaction records for at least six years to meet Maine and federal tax recordkeeping requirements.

6. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

- Access, correction, and deletion. You may ask us to access, correct, amend, or delete personal information we hold about you by contacting info@pinetreetrail.com.
- Profile and posts. You can edit or remove your profile information and request removal of content you have posted.
- Email updates. You can unsubscribe from update emails at any time using the link in any such email, or by contacting us.
- Withdraw consent. If you no longer want us to process your information, contact us at info@pinetreetrail.com.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. In keeping with the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We also do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, including through public content such as blog posts or comments. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us personal information, contact us at info@pinetreetrail.com and we will delete it.

8. DATA SECURITY AND BREACH NOTIFICATION

Our Site is hosted on Wix, which stores data on secured servers behind a firewall. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information. If a security breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify affected users and the appropriate authorities as required by Maine's data breach notification law (10 M.R.S. sections 1346 to 1348).

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. If we make material changes, we will note the update here so you can see what information we collect, how we use it, and how we share it.
